Seminar on World Hepatitis Day was held on 28th July 2016 in Aziz Fatimah Medical & Dental College, organized by Department of Medical Education

The program started with the recitation of Tilawat e Quran by M.Awais (student of 3rd Year). The welcome address was given by HOD Medical Education, Prof Dr Quddus Ur Rehman. He told us about the viral hepatitis that it is 7th leading killer worldwide, killing more people than HIV, TB or malaria. He also told that 7.1 million lives to be saved if governments agree to eliminate global killer.

Dr Saira Javeed classified the testing strategies of hepatitis how it can be diagnosed specially she stressed on common serologic patterns in Hepatitis B virus infection and their interpretation 


Asst. Prof. Dr Saleem Adil presented the modes of transmission of hepatitis and its primary, secondary and tertiary prevention.




Then, the guest speaker Prof. Dr Amir Hussain presentedthis disease as major public health challenge and statistics of hepatitis in Pakistan especially in Faisalabad. He also elaborated the natural history of viral hepatitis.

After scientific session, there was an interactive session between the speakers and participants which was very knowledgeable, interactive and interesting. The certificates were given to the speakers. Principal of AFMDC, Prof Dr Qaiser Mehmood presented the college souvenir to the guest speaker.


In the closing session of the seminar the worthy Principal, Prof Dr Qaiser Mehmood appreciated the organizers and management to conduct such an interesting, informative and knowledgeable seminar. He also paid thanks to the guest speaker for giving precious time from his busy schedule, faculty members and students for attending this seminar.
